A wraparound extension for a 1970s bungalow

An L-shaped extension giving a dated bungalow a new kitchen, snug and boot room.

The brief

The owners loved their plot but not their house, and didn't want to move.

The challenge

Clay soil meant deeper foundations than first expected, and the new roof had to sit cleanly against the old.

How we did it

Trial holes before quoting meant the foundation depth was priced in. A lower flat roof and continuous fascia tie the old and new together.

The outcome

A practical, modern layout and a much better connection to the garden, delivered without a price change.

What we delivered

  • Trial holes & foundation design
  • 48m² L-shaped extension
  • Larch cladding
  • Kitchen, snug & boot room
  • Terrace & landscaping
